>>Predators Continue To Make Small Additions

(Nashville, TN)  —  Small moves continue to be made by the Predators in free agency.  The team signed forwards Kiefer Sherwood, Mark Jankowski, and Cole Smith each to one-year deals.  The Preds also signed goalie Kevin Lankinen to a one-year deal and he’s expected to play a backup role for this upcoming season.

>>Nashville S-C Hosts Los Angeles In League Match Sunday

(Nashville, TN)  —  Nashville S-C are hosting Los Angeles this Sunday in a league match.  The club has earned seven points in their last five games while L-A has gotten 10 points in their last five.  Nashville is third in the conference with 30 points while L-A-F-C has 39 points and is in second place.  Kickoff is at 7:30 Sunday night.

>>Cameron Young Leads The Open Championship

(Scotland)  —  Cameron Young is leading the way after the first round at The Open Championship in St. Andrews.  Young finished the opening round with an eight under 64.  Rory McIlroy is two strokes behind the leader in second place at six under par while two players are tied for third place after the first round.  Tiger Woods is tied for 146th at six over par.

>>Report: Griner Making Another Appearance In Court

(Moscow)  —  WNBA star Brittney Griner is set to appear today in a Russian court.  She has pleaded guilty to drug charges, but CNN says no verdict was reached in a hearing on Thursday.  Testimony from defense witnesses was featured as the director of the Russian team Griner has played for praised her for lifting the spirit of her team.  The Phoenix Mercury star stands accused of having under a gram of cannabis oil in her luggage when she was arrested at the airport in Moscow back in February.  She faces up to ten years in prison.

>>NASCAR Cup Series Races New Hampshire Sunday

(Loudon, NH)  —  The NASCAR Cup Series rolls into New Hampshire on Sunday for the Foxwoods Resort Casino 301.  Chase Elliott enters the race with another win under his belt after winning this past Sunday at Atlanta.  It’s the lone race of the season at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.  Aric Almirola won last year’s race.

>>Coors To Run Super Bowl Ad for First Time In Over 30 Years

(Chicago, IL)  —  Coors beer is returning to the Super Bowl.  The Molson Coors Beverage company is returning to the big game next year for the first time in over three decades.  Anheuser-Busch made a deal with the NFL in 1989 that made it the exclusive alcohol advertiser during the Super Bowl.  After 33 years, that deal finally ended in June.  Molson Coors says it’s now planning to run a 30-second spot during the game that will be “unforgettable.”
