PADD Board of Directors approves budget, learns of Medicaid pilot project

The Pennyrile Area Development District Board of Directors approved a budget for the current fiscal year Monday afternoon.

The $20.1 million spending plans includes an increase of $1.1 million in revenues from the last fiscal year, though Treasurer Crissy Carter reminded that some agencies are actually receiving less money overall this year as grants come and go.

A vast majority of those funds–$15.4 million—will go directly to services provided in the nine-county region.

Meanwhile, Agency on Aging Director Jill Collins told the board they’ve been selected by the Department of Aging and Independent living to participate in a ‘Bridging the Gap’ pilot program for families of individuals with dementia in the region who are in the process of applying for the Medicaid waiver program.

Trigg County Judge-Executive Hollis Alexander is the new PADD Board chair, Greenville Mayor Jan Yonts is the vice-chair, Carter will be the secretary and Todd County Judge-Executive Todd Mansfield will serve as treasurer.
