Third-baseman Nolan Arenado and reliever Ryan Helsley were both announced as reserves for the National League team yesterday. They’ll join first baseman Paul Goldschmidt and designated hitter Albert Pujols in L.A. Goldschmidt was voted in as the starting first baseman, while Pujols was selected by the Commissioner’s Office as a legacy pick. All four will be in action at the Mid-Summer Classic on July 19th.

Ohtani was selected as a pitcher for the American League team after he was already named the team’s starting designated hitter. It’s the second straight year that the 28-year-old made the All-Star roster as both a pitcher and batter. Ohtani is batting .256 with 19 home runs this season, while owning an 8-and-4 record on the mound with a 2.44 earned run average. The All-Star game is set for July 19th at Dodger Stadium.

(Los Angeles, CA) — Free agent offensive tackle Duane Brown is due back at Los Angeles Superior Court on August 3rd for a hearing on his misdemeanor. The five-time Pro Bowler was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport on Saturday for allegedly possessing a concealed weapon. Brown was able to post the 10-thousand-dollar bail and was released later that night. According to TMZ, a gun was found by airport security in Brown’s luggage. The gun was not loaded.
