Minor damage and a few power outages were reported Thursday afternoon after a severe thunderstorm brought some much-needed rain to parts of the area.
Not everyone got a lot or any rain, but parts of Christian, Todd and Muhlenberg counties were under a severe thunderstorm warning and some of the area got a regular summertime thundershower.
The most significant damage appears to have been a large tree blown onto a shed at a home on Allensville Road near Allensville in eastern Todd County.
Christian County Emergency Management Director Randy Graham had no reports of damage and Muhlenberg County Emergency Management Director Keith Putnam said there were several trees and power lines down scattered across the county.
Pennyrile Electric had 446 members without power at one time, according to Brent Gilkey.
Any rain in the area is welcome rain, as most of western Kentucky has now officially been placed in moderate drought status.
