Leadership at Fort Campbell cased the division colors Tuesday as hundreds of screaming eagles of the 101st Airborne Division deploy to Europe.
Fort Campbell and 101st Commander, Maj. Gen. JP McGee and Command Sgt. Maj. Veronica Knapp cased the colors during a ceremony on post to mark the deployment to the European Command theater of operations to assure NATO allies and deter Russian aggression in the region.
The 101st Airborne Division Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion also cased their colors.
The casing of the colors symbolizes their departure from Fort Campbell and their colors will be uncased after their arrival at the European Command theater of operations.
