State Representative Myron Dossett of Pembroke is warning the public about Medicare and federal jury duty scams he’s hearing from constituents about.
Dossett says he’s heard from seniors who have gotten calls from individuals falsely claiming to be with Medicare asking for personal information that shouldn’t be relayed over the phone.
Another common scam that’s resurfaced is a criminal impersonating law enforcement and threatening arrest for missing jury duty if the victim doesn’t make an electronic payment.
Never give your credit card number or personal information to anyone who calls you to avoid becoming the victim of phone scams.
