A correction to the pay classification plan in the budget for fiscal year 2022-23 was approved at the meeting of Hopkinsville City Council Tuesday afternoon.
Melissa Clayton with the Finance Department told councilmembers an error that left grade 9-A in the payment plan the same was last years was discovered in review of the budget that was recently passed, and the correction approved Tuesday would correct it to the right rate.
The correction does not change the overall total budgeted amounts and was approved unanimously. Also approved was a municipal order paving the way for the City to submit a grant request in the amount of $75,000 to benefit the “If These Walls Could Talk” mural program. The grant would require matching dollars from the city, which Chief Financial Officer Robert Martin says was already approved in the budget.
If approved by the National Endowment of the Arts, the grants would pave the way for the creation of five murals on building in downtown Hopkinsville. The municipal order was approved unanimously.
