>Report: Grizzlies Extend Ja Morant

(Memphis, TN)  —  The Memphis Grizzlies are securing their future.  ESPN is reporting that the team agreed to a designated rookie maximum extension with guard Ja Morant on Thursday night.  The five-year deal will be worth at least 193-million dollars and could be worth up to 231-million.  The 2020 Rookie of the Year led Memphis to the number-two seed in the Western Conference last season.

>>Nets’ Durant Requests Trade

(Brooklyn, NY)  —  Nets star Kevin Durant wants out of Brooklyn.  Multiple reports say Durant has requested a trade after just two years with the Nets.  The Suns and Heat are on his wish list of potential landing spots, but Brooklyn reportedly plans to make a move that nets them the most in return for the 12-time All-Star.  Durant has four years left on his contract worth around 200-million dollars.

(Minneapolis, MN)  —  The Minnesota Timberwolves are locking down one of their best players.  ESPN is reporting that the team agreed to a super max extension with center Karl-Anthony Towns on Thursday night.  The deal is worth 214-million dollars over four years, and it kicks in before the 2024-25 season.  The extension keeps Towns in Minnesota for the next six seasons.

>>Report: USC And UCLA Accepted Into Big Ten

(Undated)  —  Two of the Pac-12’s biggest programs are leaving the conference.  USC and UCLA have been notified that their application to join the Big Ten has been accepted.  The schools will begin play in the conference in 2024.  The Big Ten confirmed in a statement that the vote was unanimous when conference presidents and chancellors met on the addition of the two schools.

(Silvis, IL)  —  J.T. Poston is atop the leaderboard after the first round of the John Deere Classic.  Poston finished the opening round nine under par after shooting a 62.  Michael Gligic is in second place after finishing the first round seven under par.  Chris Gotterup and Vaughn Taylor are tied for third place at six under.

>NASCAR Cup Series Set For Road America On Sunday

(Plymouth, WI)  —  NASCAR is set for some road racing on Sunday.  The Kwik Trip 250 at Road America in Plymouth, Wisconsin will take place.  It’s the first road race since Daniel Suarez won at Sonoma on June 12th.  Chase Elliott enters with plenty of momentum after winning the Ally 400 this past Sunday.

>>Predators Make A Trade Ahead Of Next Week’s Draft

(Nashville, TN)  —  The Predators are making a trade ahead of next week’s N-H-L draft.  The team sent Forward Mathieu Olivier to the Blue Jackets for a fourth-round draft pick.  Olivier played 48 games for the Preds over the last three seasons and scored three goals along with four assists.  The pick Nashville gets back originally belonged to Toronto which is number 122-overall.  The draft begins Thursday night.

(Nashville, TN)  —  Nashville S-C hosts Portland this Sunday in the M-L-S.  The club has earned 11 points in their last five matches while the Timbers have gotten seven points in their last five.  Nashville is fifth in the West with 26 points while Portland is eighth with 22 points.  Kickoff is at 7:30 Sunday night.
