The Pennyroyal Arts Council will host a mural unveiling Friday morning at the Trail of Tears Commemorative Park.
It was designed by local professional artist Jennifer Bowman, and a team of 12 high school campers as part of a week-long mural arts camp. A news release says the project complements this year’s Big Read program by featuring a Cherokee phoenix which represents rising from the ruins.
The public art unveiling will take place at the storage facility adjacent to the grandstand at the Trail of Tears Park and the public is invited to attend.
