The Todd County Grand Jury recently indicted the Lewisburg man accused in the May 13 shooting death of 57-year old Deborah McGee outside her Helstley Road home near Clifty.
The grand jury indicted 44-year old David Odeal Slagle for capital murder and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
Kentucky State Police allege Slagle shot McGee in the chest with a shotgun.
He had allegedly threatened to shoot the victim the week before the killing and reportedly admitted to several people, including his mother, that he had shot McGee in the hours after the incident.
A detective testified last month that Slagle claimed during an interview that the shooting was an accident—that he was attempting to fix an issue with the victim’s gun when it went off.
