>>Colorado Avalanche Win Stanley Cup

(Tampa, FL)  —  For the third time in franchise history the Colorado Avalanche are Stanley Cup champions.  The Avs finished off the two-time defending Cup champs in Game Six of the Final with a 2-1 win in Tampa.

>>Xander Schauffele Wins Travelers Championship

(Cromwell, CT)  —  Xander Schauffele is celebrating another tournament win.  Schauffele finished atop the leaderboard at 19 under par to win the Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands.  The 28-year-old shot a 68 on the final day of the tournament.  This is Schauffele’s second win of the season after taking the Zurich Classic of New Orleans earlier in the year.

>>Ole Miss Sweeps Oklahoma In College World Series

(Omaha, NE)  —  The Rebels are celebrating a historic championship.  With a 4-2 victory, Ole Miss swept the Oklahoma Sooners to win its first ever College World Series.  The Rebels scored three times in the bottom of the eighth to take the lead heading into the final frame.  Brandon Johnson struck out the side to close out the game.  John Gaddis was credited with the win after pitching an inning and a third of scoreless relief.  The Rebels finish the Cinderella story after being one of the final four team selected to the NCAA Tournament.

>>Chase Elliott Wins Ally 400 Despite Weather Delays

(Lebanon, TN)  —  Chase Elliot is the winner of the Ally 400 race at Nashville Superspeedway.  Several weather delays moved the second half of the race to last night.  Elliot claimed his second win of the season with his previous victory coming at Dover Motor Speedway last month.  Kurt Busch, Ryan Blaney, Kyle Larson, and Ross Chastain round out the top five finishers.  The next race is Sunday at Road America in Wisconsin.

>>Wimbledon Preview

(London)  —  The top tennis players in the world are meeting on the grass courts at Wimbledon.  On the men’s side, top-seeded Novak Djokovic [[ jow-kuh-vuhch ]] looks to defend his title and seeks his fourth straight win at the tournament.  He’ll face some tough competition as second-seeded Rafael Nadal comes off an impressive win at the French Open.  On the women’s side, there will be a new champion as newly retired Ashleigh Barty won’t be defending her title.

>>Titans Looking To Extend Young Safety

(Nashville, TN)  —  The Titans are looking to extend one of their young players on defense.  Terry McCormick of Titans-Insider reports the team had preliminary conversations about extending Amani Hooker.  The Safety is entering the final year of his rookie deal and will make about two-and-a-half-million dollars this season.  Hooker had 62 tackles and one interception in 12 games last season.

>>Grizzlies Trade De’Anthony Melton

(Memphis, TN)  —  The Grizzlies are moving on from one of their shooting guards.  The team traded De’Anthony Melton to the 76ers for David Roddy and Danny Green.  Roddy was selected by Philadelphia with pick number 23 in last week’s draft and averaged just under 20 points per game at Colorado State last year.  The Guard led his school to the number six seed in the NCAA Tournament which was the highest in school history.  Green is coming off A-C-L and L-C-L tears suffered in the playoffs last year.

>>Nashville S-C Earns All Three Points In A 3-1 Win Against D-C United

(Washington, D.C.)  —  Nashville S-C earns all three points in a 3-1 win over D-C United. Nashville is fifth in the West with 26 points and are back in action mid-week as they take on Orlando City in a Cup Quarter-Final match.
