Pageants, derby make for big night at WKSF

Saturday night was a big one at the Western Kentucky State Fair, with pageants in the convention center and the demolition derby in the grandstand.

The Mrs. Western Kentucky State Fair crown went to Vanessa Lynch, who was the runner-up in last year’s pageant. First runner-up was Lacey Shanklin, second runner-up was Danielle Pool, who was also named Miss Congeniality.

Meanwhile, Caitlyn Hooks of Eddyville claimed the crown of Miss Western Kentucky State Fair, Alarryia Jones of Manitou was first runner-up, Madison Bennet of Madisonville is second runner-up and Taylor Goodwin of Cadiz is Miss Congeniality.

In the grandstand, Jordan Shepherd was the winner of the demolition derby for the big cars and Jamison Mayes finished second. Brandon Francis won the compact division and Jared Stokes was the runner-up.
