Local police stopped a burglary in progress Sunday morning and arrested a suspect.
Hopkinsville police were called to a home in the 800 block of East First Street a few minutes after 1 a.m. when the homeowner arrived from being out of town and saw that the lights inside were on.
When the homeowner approached the home, a male voice was heard inside and she dialed 911.
A Christian County Sheriff’s Office K9 unit was called to assist and 38-year old Adrion Pollard of Hopkinsville was found inside a closet.
The police report says the house had been ransacked and a front window broken to get inside.
Pollard reportedly told police he had permission to sleep in the home and that it was ransacked when he got there.
He was arrested and charged with second-degree burglary.
