Saturday at the Western Kentucky State Fair features pageants in the air-conditioned convention center and the always-popular demolition derby in the grandstand.
Tony Meacham with the Fair Board says 3,698 people walked through the gates on night one, down by about 900 from the same night one year ago.
Meahcham says pageants for babies and toddlers get underway at 10 a.m. in the convention center, the Mrs. Pageant commences at 5:30 and the Miss at 7:30 and the derby begins at 7 p.m. in the outdoor arena.
Rides open at 5 p.m. with a $25 unlimited ride armband night and there will be a 4-H/FFA cattle show at 6 p.m.
Admission is $3, it’s $1 with a military ID and free for children 2 and younger.
