>Avalanche Look To Eliminate Lightning In Game Five

(Denver, CO)  —  The Avalanche are looking to capture their first Stanley Cup since 2001.  Colorado hosts the Lightning tonight in Game Five of the Stanley Cup Final in Denver. Tampa Bay now faces elimination as it trails the series 3-games-to-1.  The Lightning will attempt to force a potential Game Six in Tampa with a win.

>>Arch Manning Commits To Texas

(Austin, TX)  —  Arch Manning is going to be a Texas Longhorn.  The New Orleans native is the nephew of former NFL quarterbacks Peyton and Eli Manning.  He announced his commitment to UT on Thursday morning on Twitter.  Manning is considered the top player in the Class of 2023 and was recruited by Alabama and Georgia.

(Omaha, NE)  —  The College World Series championship series is set.  For the first time in program history the Ole Miss Rebels are heading to the finals.  Ole Miss advanced to the national championship after eliminating Arkansas 2-0 in a winner-take-all game.  The Rebels have gone 8-and-1 in the postseason after making the NCAA Tournament as an at-large team.  Ole Miss will be facing Oklahoma in the finals after the Sooners eliminated Texas A&M. The best-of-three championship series gets started on Saturday.

(Cromwell, CT)  —  A pair of players are leading the way at the Travelers Championship in Cromwell, Connecticut.  JT Poston and Rory McIlroy each finished the first round of the tournament eight under par after shooting a 62.

>>NASCAR Set For Nashville Sunday

(Lebanon, TN)  —  NASCAR rolls through Nashville Superspeedway for the Ally 400 on Sunday.  It’s the first race for the Cup Series after an off week for Father’s Day.  Daniel Suarez enters the race with plenty of momentum.  Suarez picked up his first career win at Sonoma last time out.

(Washington, D.C.)  —  Nashville S-C are on the road tomorrow to play D-C United in M-L-S action.  Nashville has gotten eight points in their last five matches while D-C has earned just two points in their last five.  Nashville is sixth in the West with 23 points while D-C is one spot above last place in the East with 14 points.
