There doesn’t appear to be a long-lasting cool-down in sight for western Kentucky as temperatures remain above normal.
Christine Wielgos is the warning coordination meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Paducah and says Wednesday will be the hottest day this week when you factor in the humidity.
The long-range outlook also shows above normal temperatures next week.
There also continues to be some concern for drought conditions to quickly develop, though just a few showers and thunderstorms here and there could go a long way in preventing that from happening.
Wielgos says the evidence shows the damage from severe weather Friday in Hopkinsville and elsewhere in the region was the result of straight-line winds.
While a thunderstorm or two will be possible Wednesday afternoon through early Thursday morning, severe weather doesn’t appear likely anytime in the next several days.
