>>Lightning Respond With Win Over Avs In Game Three

(Tampa, FL)  —  The Lightning are striking back on home ice.  Tampa Bay crushed the Avalanche 6-2 in Game Three of the Stanley Cup Final.  The Lightning blew the game open with a four-goal second period and had six different skaters light the lamp in the victory.  Tampa Bay cut the series deficit to 2-1 after getting its first win in the best-of-seven set. The teams are set to meet for Game Four tomorrow night in Tampa.

>>Report: Kyrie Irving And Nets At Impasse

(Brooklyn, NY)  —  According to The Athletic, conversations between the Brooklyn Nets and point guard Kyrie Irving have gone stagnant.  An impasse exists among the parties that clears the way for the seven-time All-Star to consider the open marketplace.  After the past season, in which he played just 29 regular season games in part because of his decision not to comply with New York City’s vaccine mandate, Irving made it clear his intentions were to return to the team in the summer.  Irving has until June 29th to decide on his player option for next season.

>>NBA Announces Summer League Schedule

(Undated)  —  The NBA is announcing the schedule for this year’s Summer League.  The 11-day competition will get underway on July 7th and two teams will meet in the Championship Game on July 17th.  It’s the 17th annual Summer League as all 30 NBA teams will play five games each at the Thomas And Mack Center and Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas.

>>Former Tennessee Governor Purchases Nashville Predators

(Nashville, TN)  —  A former Tennessee Governor is purchasing the Nashville Predators.  The team announced late last week that Bill Haslam will become the new majority owner of the franchise through a multi-phased purchase transaction.  The team is currently owned by Herbert Fritch and nearly 20 other minority owners.  Haslam is expected to buy shares owned by Fritch over the next three years.

>>Bats, Redbirds And Sounds Begin New Series’ Tonight

(Louisville, KY)  —  The Bats, Redbirds, and Sounds all begin new series’ tonight.  Louisville is coming off a series loss to Durham and are looking to turn things around when they host the Iowa Cubs.  The Memphis Redbirds split their last series with the Sounds and are on the road in Indianapolis to begin one with the Indians.  And The Sounds are in Nashville hosting the Gwinnett Stripers.

The Bowling Green Hot Rods travel to Greenville to start a series.

>>Number Two Ranked Running Back In The Nation Commits To Louisville

(Louisville, KY)  —  The nation’s number two ranked Running Back is committing to Louisville.  Rueben Owens II is E-S-P-N’s number two Back in the class of 2023 and chose the Cardinals as his destination yesterday.  Owens is the 29th ranked prospect overall in E-S-P-N’s top 300 and he joins DeAndre Moore Junior who also committed to Louisville.  Moore Junior is the number two ranked receiver in the country.
