COVID numbers similar to last week in new report

The number of new COVID-19 cases in Kentucky last week was down from the previous week, but the positivity rate was up just slightly.

There were 7,927 new cases, according to the weekly report, which was down by about 5,400 from the prior week.

The positivity rate is 12.45 percent, up from 12.07 percent.

The state also reported 51 more COVID deaths, bringing Kentucky’s pandemic death toll to 16,114.

There are 369 people in Kentucky hospitals with COVID, 48 in the ICU and 25 on ventilators, with those numbers very similar to last week.
