Fire destroyed a garage Saturday afternoon on Rosetown Road near Pembroke, but firefighters were able to prevent it from causing serious damage to the home nearby.
Pembroke Fire Chief Nick Belair says a woman finished mowing her yard in the 4000 block of Rosetown and returned the mower to the garage.
The garage was on fire when she later returned outside.
Firefighters from Pembroke and Fairview were able to prevent the fire from spreading to the home, with the residence only sustaining some heat damage to the siding.
No one was injured in the fire.
