Man arrested after shots fired incident

A man who allegedly fired a gun into the air outside the West Seventh Street Dollar General Thursday afternoon was arrested.

It happened about 12:40 p.m. and a witness said 26-year old Aaron Ricker of Hopkinsville left the Dollar General after throwing items on the ground while in an argument with store staff.

When the witness followed Ricker outside, he allegedly fired two to three shots into the air from a pistol.

He then fled the scene, but was arrested about 20 minutes later on Colonette Drive, where he reportedly admitted to firing the shots.

He was charged with two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment.
