Motorists that utilize I-24 on a regular basis should consider looking for other routes beginning Monday, as the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is set to continue road work on I-24 in Christian County.
According to a news release, starting Monday, I-24 will be pushed down to one lane from mile marker 92 to mile marker 86. The lane reduction is to allow repairs to the westbound side of I-24. These repairs are necessary in preparation of transitioning traffic to 3 lanes on the Westbound side, while full-depth, full-width reconstruction of eastbound lanes occurs.
Repairs include concrete patching, edge drain replacement, and full-depth shoulder reconstruction. The westbound repair work duration is 3 weeks.
