November ballot set in Todd County

The November general election ballot is set in Todd County after the non-partisan filing passed this week.

While Todd County Judge-Executive Todd Mansfield is opposed by Republican former judge-executive Kent Knight, most countywide officials are unopposed.

Those include PVA Perry Stokes, Coroner Timothy Wells, Sheriff Tracy White, County Clerk Cindy O’Bryan, Jailer Jeff Penick and County Attorney Jeff Traughber.

There are only two contested magistrate races—Republican Billy Bryant is opposed by Democrat Marvin Chandler in District 2 and District 3 Magistrate Ethan Chester is opposed by Republican Brent Brookshire.

Elkton Mayor Arthur Green and Trenton Mayor Martha Jo Ray are both unopposed, while Guthrie Mayor Jimmy Covington is opposed by former Mayor Scott Marshall and Councilman Zollie Rose.

Guthrie’s City Council will be made up of Chad Johnson, Harry Green, William Longhurst, Norma Williams, Linda Smith and Pam Turner.

Trenton’s City Commission will include Joyce Edwards, Wayne Johnson, John Sadler and Tim Kulesza.

There are eight candidates for six Elkton City Council seats—incumbents Michael Case, George Orr, Danny Laster, David Powell, Doug Gibson and Frank McReynolds—and challengers John Mullins and John Rice.

Both Todd County School Board members on the ballot—Andrea Jones and James Thomas—are unopposed.
