Mentoring group looks to bring help and hope to local young women

A mentoring program for local girls is gearing up for new members and a new school year of providing guidance to young women in the community.

Tangela Babb is the founder and director of Lipstick After Dark and says they currently have 17 young women in the program that focuses on helping them navigate a world of pressure and expectations, and gives them the tools to make good choices.

She says they’ll celebrate the dedication and fortitude of their group during a pinning ceremony this summer—and then in August when school starts back, they’ll be welcoming new members.

The program works with the school system to put the word out about the initiative, so young women are aware of it and can sign up to join if they feel the need.  Babb says you can also find out more about Lipstick After Dark by that name on social media.
