Two charged in connection with Clarksville fatal shooting

Two people have been charged in connection with a homicide that occurred on Power Street in Clarksville in early May.

According to a news release from the Clarksville Police Department, on May 9, 26-year-old Tristen James Deschapell of Clarksville was served with an arrest warrant for criminal homicide.  Deschapell was incarcerated in Carrollton, Georgia on unrelated charges when the warrant was served and is now awaiting extradition back to Clarksville.

On Wednesday, Clarksville police arrested 47-year-old Natalie Smull of Clarksville at her residence on charges of tampering with physical evidence and accessory after the fact (criminal homicide).

As previously reported, officers were called to a shooting in progress at 708 Power a few minutes after 1 o’clock Sunday afternoon and found a man inside a vehicle with gunshot wounds.

John Cole was pronounced dead at the scene.
