Senator Paul talks gun policy after recent mass shootings

U.S. Senator Rand Paul is open to finding ways to address mass shootings in America, but doesn’t believe gun control measures proposed by Democrats are the solution.

In an interview with WHOP news, Senator Paul says restricting the size of available magazines for firearms would hurt homeowners armed to protect their families.

Securing schools from intruders should be a top priority, with Senator Paul noting the elementary school in Uvalde, Texas where 19 students and two teachers were killed last month had an unsecured classroom door.

He says investigation often shows school shooters had shown warning signs in the weeks and months prior to their crimes and he believes law enforcement and prosecutors should be more aggressive in pursuing felony charges against those types of individuals.
