Oak Grove murder suspect arraigned in District Court

The suspect charged in connection with a Sunday morning fatal shooting in Oak Grove that killed 18-year-old Gailon Toler was arraigned in Christian District Court Tuesday morning.

Tyron Holt appeared virtually from the Christian County Jail before District Judge Lindsey Adams, who read him his charges and asked if he understood them—Holt says he doesn’t, and he hasn’t had a chance to speak with a lawyer yet.

Judge Adams entered a not guilty plea on his behalf and set a preliminary hearing for June 1, and left Holt’s bond at $1 million.

Judge Adams told Holt that should also give him time to speak with an attorney about his case.

An arrest warrant alleges Holt shot Toler multiple times at the steps and entryway of a Tyler Street mobile home early Sunday morning.

Toler was pronounced dead at the scene by the Christian County Coroner’s Office.
