Ky. gains 8,129 COVID cases, positivity rate at 10.52 percent

COVID-19 cases continue to climb in Kentucky, as the positivity rate is back up over ten percent.

There were 8,127 COVID-19 cases reported in the last week, roughly 2,000 more cases than the week before—the positivity rate is at 10.52 percent, an increase of nearly a percentage point.  There were also 79 newly reported deaths, putting the death toll in the Commonwealth at 15,909.

In some good news, the hospitalizations numbers remain fairly low—there are 264 individuals in the hospital with COVID-19, 23 in the ICU and six on a ventilator.
