Funeral services held for fallen Calloway County Chief Deputy Jody Cash

Funeral services were held Saturday in Murray for Calloway County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Jody Cash, who was shot and killed by a suspect Monday in Marshall County.

Longtime friend and Cash’s Sunday school teacher, Joey Adair, gave the eulogy in front of a large crowd at the CFSB Center in Murray.

He says Cash loved his family, always wanted to make people smile and he was always on duty.

Adair noted Deputy Cash’s service after December’s tornadoes and his willingness to do any job that might help another community.

He noted Cash’s faith in God and said he worked to make the lives of those in his community better.

Cash began his career as a deputy sheriff for the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office in 1999. He also spent six years as assistant chief of Murray State University Police as well as eight years as a Kentucky State trooper.
