Reds rained out, Cardinals, Cubs & Braves all lose Wednesday

Yesterday’s game between the Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Guardians at Progressive Field was postponed because of inclement weather. The two teams will play today at 12:10, with pregame at 11:40 this morning on News Radio 95.3 FM/1230 AM WHOP.

National League

After pulling within two, the St. Louis Cardinals allowed five runs in the eighth inning on their way to an 11-4 loss to the New York Mets. Nolan Arenado hit a two-run homer in the eighth to make it 6-4, before T.J. McFarland gave up five runs in the bottom of the frame. The Redbirds try to earn a four-game split today at Citi Field.

The Chicago Cubs couldn’t complete their first sweep of the season as they lost to the Pittsburgh Pirates 3-2 at Wrigley Field. Ian Happ homered for the Northsiders, who saw their four-game winning streak come to an end. The Cubs host the Arizona Diamondbacks tonight.

The Atlanta Braves lost to the Milwaukee Brewers 7-6 in 11 innings. Marcell Ozuna and Austin Riley homered in the loss. The Braves are off today before meeting the Miami Marlins tomorrow night.
