Arraignment was held Wednesday morning in Christian Circuit Court for the former Trigg County High School teacher indicted for sexual abuse of a minor.
A not guilty plea was entered for 39-year old Ashley Wells of Hopkinsville in the courtroom of Circuit Judge John Atkins and a pre-trial conference was scheduled for June 22.
The indictment for first-degree sexual abuse was returned last month, alleging she made sexual contact in December of 2016 with a minor with whom she held a position of special authority or trust.
Kentucky State Police investigated the alleged conduct.
