Grand jury returns indictments for drug trafficking, failing to comply with sex offender registry

A Christian County grand jury recently returned an indictment against a Hopkinsville man accused of failing to comply with the sex offender registry.

It alleges that in March, 49-year old Darryl Dixon of Hopkinsville was living at an address that he had not reported to Probation and Parole as part of his sex offender registry requirements.

Dixon has multiple prior convictions for failing to comply.

Meanwhile, a superseding indictment was returned against 37-year old Robert Jackson of Marion, who is already charged with reckless homicide and three counts of wanton endangerment in connection with a December, 2019 crash on Princeton Road that killed two people.

The new indictment adds charges of speeding, failure to maintain insurance and possession of marijuana—with all stemming from investigation of the same crash. Those misdemeanor charges and violations had been pending in district court.

Jackson was traveling south on Princeton Road about three and a half miles north of the Eagle Way Bypass in Christian County on December 23, 2019 when he crossed the center line and collided head-on with a vehicle driven by 32-year-old Misty Quarles of Cerulean. Quarles’ pickup then went over a bridge and onto a creek bed.

Quarles and a passenger, 11-year-old Alexia Trump, died from their injuries.

Two other passengers, 34-year-old Marcus Quarles and a juvenile, were seriously injured and flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Jackson was also injured and was taken to an area hospital.

The indictment says Jackson was operating his vehicle in “in a reckless manner” and with “extreme indifference to the value of human life.”

And the grand jury indicted 46-year old Christopher Madison Diller and 39-year old Pamela Adams of Old Fruit Hill Road, Crofton for six counts of trafficking in a controlled substance and trafficking in marijuana.

Investigation by Kentucky State Police in March determined Miller and Adams were allegedly trafficking methamphetamine, prescription pain killers, and other narcotics.
