Ky. gains 6,443 COVID cases, positivity rate nearly ten percent

The positivity rate is just shy of ten percent in Kentucky as there were a reported 6,443 new cases in the last week.

That’s roughly double the number of cases reported last week, and puts the overall total in the Commonwealth at roughly 1.3 million since the pandemic began. The death toll is now at 15,830, after a newly reported 96 deaths since the last report.  The positivity rate is at 9.37 percent, a continuing upward trend in the past several weeks.

There are currently 340 people in the hospital with COVID-19, 30 in the ICU and nine on a ventilator.
