Two children injured after buggy rear-ended in hit and run crash

Two small children were injured in a vehicle versus horse and buggy hit and run collision Saturday night on Pembroke Road in Hopkinsville.

It happened about 6:30 p.m. and the collision report says the buggy was headed toward Pembroke a little north of the Bypass when it was rear-ended by a Chevy Suburban.

The driver of the Suburban fled the scene and a witness said it had been swerving all over the road prior to the crash.

Hopkinsville police say two children in the buggy, 3-year old Ivan Peachy and 5-month old Elmer Peachy, were taken by EMS to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment of injuries.

The other occupants—39-year old Emma Peachy of Cerulean and two other minors—were not injured, though Emma did ride with her children in the ambulance to the hospital.

Hopkinsville police have not been able to locate the Suburban and driver involved in the crash.
