NHL

The Nashville Predators backs are against the wall as they welcome the Colorado Avalanche for game three of their Stanley Cup Playoff series this afternoon. The Predators are down two games to none with first puck at 3:30 at Bridgestone Arena.

NBA

Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies play at Golden State in game three of their Western Conference semifinal series tied at one game each. Tipoff is set for 7:30 pm.

Golf

Jason Day at 10 under has a three shot lead heading into the third round of the PGA Tour’s Wells Fargo Championship at TPC Potomac. Max Homa is second at seven under par with a quartet of golfers tied for third at six under.

Horse Racing

The 148th Kentucky Derby takes place today at Churchill Downs. One of the horses and its jockey will try to make history as Taiba will try to become the first to win the Run for the Roses in just his third start since 1883. The colt has morning line odds of 12-1. Riding Taiba will be Hall of Famer Mike Smith who at age 56, is trying to become the oldest jockey to win the race: Smith has two Derby victories, aboard Justify and Giacomo. Bill Shoemaker was 54 when he won the 1986 Derby aboard Ferdinand.
