Jeffers Bend to receive donation to expand Butterfly Garden

Jeffers’ Bend Environmental Center is set to receive a $10,000 donation to benefit the butterfly garden at the center’s location on Metcalfe Lane.

According to a news release, a local family is making the donation, and the funds will go towards expanding the butterfly garden for visitors to enjoy. The big check presentation will be made at 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday, May 10 at Jeffers Bend in the presence of 108 third, fourth, and fifth graders from University Heights Academy and Saint Peter and Paul Catholic School, 11 presenters for the field day and members of the Jeffers Bend Steering Committee.

The presentation will be a part of Water Week, which culminates with the Water Festival on Saturday, May 14 from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. at Jeffers’ Bend, where attendees will be able to enjoy games, over 40 educational vendors and numerous outdoors activities.
