Grand Jury returns indictments for murder, arson, sexual abuse

A Christian County Grand Jury returned multiple indictments Friday, including for charges of murder, arson and sexual abuse.

Indicted for murder is 31-year old Lance Bowden of Hopkinsville, who is accused of allegedly using a knife to cut the throat of 31-year-old John Michael Kellums to death at a residence on North McPherson Street in March of this year.

 

 

 

Indicted for first-degree arson is 38-year-old Irean Coleman of Hopkinsville who allegedly used a lighter to intentionally start fires to the doors of a residence on East 18th Street in March. She reportedly admitted to damaging the front door to officers.

 

 

 

Thirty-two year old Eric Ballard of Hopkinsville has been indicted on two-counts of first-degree sexual abuse victim under 12 years of age, possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor victim under 12 years of age and tampering with physical evidence. The indictment alleges that he made sexual contact with a minor on two occasions in May of 2020.

 

 

Indicted for first-degree sodomy victim under 12 years of age is 34-year-old Dustin Tyler McDaniel of Hopkinsville.

 

 

 

 

Twenty-nine year old Brandon Gard of Hopkinsville was indicted for first-degree sexual abuse and first-degree attempted rape, alleging that in March 2022 he had forcible sexual contact with a minor under 16 years of age and attempted to have sexual contact with another victim.
