Governor Andy Beshear announced Thursday that Casey Jones Distillery on Witty Lane in Christian County is expanding with a $1.9 million investment that will create 15 full-time jobs.
The governor says the expansion will include new equipment and allow for increased production.
Co-founder A.J. Jones is quoted in a news release as saying, “With the belief and commitment of our remarkable staff, and the many partners like South Western Kentucky Economic Development Council and the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development, our dream and our goal of being the premier craft distillery in Western Kentucky is going to come true.”
The governor also announced during his weekly Team Kentucky Update that Hopkins County has been awarded $8.5 million in funding approved by the General Assembly for cleanup in Dawson Springs and other communities affected by the December 10 tornado.
The governor says 2.9 million Kentuckians are now vaccinated against COVID-19 and he continues to feel good about where Kentucky is in the pandemic, noting hospitalizations continue to remain very low.
