Three hurt in Logan Co. vehicle vs horse and buggy collision

Three people were hurt in a vehicle versus horse and buggy collision in Logan County Thursday morning.

According to a news release from the Logan County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to reports of an accident on Morgantown Road in the area of Old 79 Loop around 9:20 a.m. Investigation determined that a vehicle driven by 61-year-old Michael Southerland of Russellville had been traveling south on Morgantown when he failed to see a horse and buggy in the road way.

His vehicle struck the back of the buggy, which caused 21-year-old Levi Hershberger, 21-year-old Amanda Hershberger and a one-year-old child to be ejected from the buggy. The child was treated at the scene, but Levi and Amanda Hershberger were taken to the Medical Center in Bowling Green, where they were treated and released.
