Rotary Auction has another big night

Tuesday was another big and successful night at the 72nd WHOP Rotary Radio Auction.

The first slate of big board items sold for $9,750 and 111 total items sold during the evening, bringing in almost $19,000. Hour and Goat Club donations came in at about $15,000 and the diner and sweet shop made about $5,700.

Through two nights, the auction has raised $183,452—just over $87,000 ahead of the 2021 pace.

Auction Chair Andrew Wilson thanked the community for its support and said they still need desserts for the sweet shop and additional items for the auction.

Wilson notes Rotary presented Hopkinsville Community College with a check for $222,000 this week to fund the Rotary Scholars program.

Schools will provide the fruit of their fundraising labors this evening.

The auction resumes tonight at 6 on Lite Rock 98.7, lite987whop.com, the Hopkinsville Rotary website and Facebook page and Spectrum Channel 376.
