Military convoys for training exercise likely to cause some delays on area roadways

Motorists along Fort Campbell Boulevard, the Pennyrile Parkway and the Western Kentucky Parkway can expect to see convoys of military vehicles traveling from Fort Campbell to Greenville or Fort Knox later this week.

The majority of the convoys that may be 10 to 200 vehicles will depart Fort Campbell via Fort Campbell Boulevard and take I-24 to the Pennyrile Parkway before getting off on I-69 and heading east toward Muhlenberg County or Fort Knox.

Post officials say it’s part of a division-wide training exercise called Operation Lethal Eagle II.

While most of the convoys will be traveling Friday and Saturday, it’s possible to see the convoys anytime between Thursday and May 13 on area roadways.

A majority of the convoy movement will be during the day and they likely will cause congestion and delays.
