It’s not surprising that as pandemic restrictions were released last year, unemployment was down from 2020 to 2021 in all 120 Kentucky counties.
Christian County’s annual jobless rate for 2021 was 5.8 percent, down from 7.7 percent in 2020.
Todd County was tied for third-lowest unemployment rate in Kentucky last year at 3.6 percent, down from 4.7 percent in 2020.
Trigg County’s 2021 jobless rate was 5.1 percent, down from 6.8 percent the previous year.
Muhlenberg County had the Pennyrile region’s highest unemployment in 2021 at 6.6 percent.
The state number was 4.7 percent, down from 6.4 percent in 2020. The national average was 5.3 percent, down from 8.1 the previous year, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.
