MORNING SPORTS BRIEFS 4/18/22

NBA

The Memphis Grizzlies play game two of their NBA playoff series at the Minnesota Timberwolves tomorrow night. Ja Morant and crew fell 130-117 Saturday in Memphis.

NHL

The Nashville Predators allowed seven goals in the second period as they fell 8-3 to the St. Louis Blues. Nick Cousins and Luke Kunin each had a goal and an assist in the loss. The Predators will host the Calgary Flames tomorrow.

Golf

Jordan Spieth is celebrating a victory at the RBC Heritage. Spieth beat Patrick Cantlay in a one-hole playoff to clinch his 13th career PGA Tour title, and second straight on Easter Sunday. Spieth and Cantlay finished regulation at 13-under par to force the playoff. Several golfer tied for third place at 12-under. Louisville area native Justin Thomas tied for 35th at six under.

NASCAR

Kyle Busch is the king of dirt and asphalt. Busch took home the checkered flag at the Food City Dirt Race at Bristol. Tyler Reddick took second while Joey Logano finished in third. Kyle Larson and Ryan Blaney rounded out the top five.
