The Cincinnati Reds losing skid continues as they fell to the Los Angeles Dodgers 9-1 Sunday. Tyler Naquin knocked in the lone run for Cincinnati, who lost its sixth straight game. The Reds open a series tonight at San Diego with air time at 8:10 on News Radio 95.3 FM/1230 AM WHOP.

Elsewhere in the National League: The St. Louis Cardinals settled for a four-game series split after falling to the Milwaukee Brewers 6-5. Albert Pujols smacked a three-run homer for the Redbirds, who fell to 5-and-3 on the season and open a three-game series in Miami tomorrow.

Seiya Suzuki continues to dominate the major leagues, hitting his fourth home run of the young season as the Chicago Cubs topped the Colorado Rockies 6-4 in Denver. Willson Contreras also homered for Chicago, which improved to 6-and-4. The Cubs host the Tampa Bay Rays starting tonight.

The Atlanta Braves fell 2-1 to the Padres in San Diego. Marcell Ozuna homered in the loss. The Braves are 5-and-6 and will visit the Los Angeles Dodgers tonight.

Ronald Acuna Jr.’s return to the Atlanta Braves is getting closer. The club announced Sunday that Acuna will begin a rehab assignment with its Triple-A affiliate in Gwinnett on Tuesday. The two-time All-Star tore his ACL last July, and he started the 2022 season on the 10-day injured list.

The Los Angeles Angels are getting some good news on the status of Mike Trout. The X-rays on Trout’s left hand came back negative and that he is considered day-to-day. Trout took a hit to his hand by a pitch in the fifth inning of the Angels’ 8-3 win over the Rangers in Arlington.
