Christian County held off Hopkinsville 4-3 in the first meeting of the season between the teams. The Colonels scored four times in the bottom of the fifth inning to see the Tigers score three times in the top of the 6th. Colonels pitcher Elijah Underhill struck out 18 as the state’s strikeout leader has 81 on the season and held Hopkinsville to just one hit. Christian County had two hits in the game in improving to 15-3 and 4-0 in district play while Hopkinsville fell to 3-8/0-1.
2nd Region All A Scores
Heritage Christian Academy built a 2-0 lead early on Caldwell County but the Tigers scored eight times in the fifth and twice in the sixth to win 10-2. JJ Thompson had two of the five hits for the Warriors in defeat. Trenton Hayes took the pitching loss for HCA.
University Heights picked up a 11-2 win over Livingston Central in five innings and Lyon County downed Fort Campbell 16-1 in four innings also in the 2nd Region All A tournament.
