Suspect enters plea in Valero fatal shooting

The man charged with murder for the April 10, 2021 shooting death of Delmour Moncrief at the East Ninth Street Valero gas station entered a plea Friday in Christian Circuit Court.

Court officials say 22-year old Dalton Hall of Springfield, Tennessee pled guilty to murder as part of a deal that comes with a recommended 20-year sentence. He will appear for formal sentencing on May 25 and will remain in custody.

The tampering with evidence and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon charges against Hall were dismissed.

His codefendant, 27-year old David King of Guthrie, pleaded guilty in October to possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and hindering the apprehension of a fugitive in a deal that came with a sentence of five years in prison.
