Gov says Kentucky in good place with COVID

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear says Kentucky is in a very good place when it comes to COVID-19 and he hasn’t seen any data to indicate that will change soon.

During his Team Kentucky briefing Thursday morning, the governor said case numbers remain low and the positivity rate continues to hover at around 2 percent.

He says the virus also seems to be milder now than it was when numbers were about as low last summer.

That’s apparent as the number of Kentuckians in the hospital because of COVID also continues to fall and the number of patients on a ventilator is at an almost record low for the pandemic.

In other news, the governor says Kentuckians who paid property taxes on an inflated value of their used car in January, February or March should be receiving a rebate check in the next two to three weeks after the governor issued an executive order and lawmakers passed legislation freezing used car values at 2021 levels.
