Pursuit ends in Elkton with arrest

A Bowling Green man was arrested by the Todd County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday afternoon after he allegedly ran into an Elkton Police Department cruiser at the end of a short pursuit.

Todd County Dispatch notified police of a reckless driver headed toward Elkton on Guthrie Road about 5:45 p.m. and an Elkton officer saw 43-year old Jonathan Reddell of Bowling Green nearly hit two vehicles as he entered oncoming traffic while approaching the Public Square.

Deputy David Hutcheson attempted to make a traffic stop on Reddell on West Main Street in Elkton and the police report says Reddell failed to stop until the pursuit ended when he rammed an Elkton PD cruiser.

Reddell allegedly got out of his car and acted as if he was going to fight officers on scene and that’s when a taser was deployed to take him into custody as he continued to wrestle with police.

He was checked out at Logan Memorial Hospital and then lodged in the Todd County Jail on charges of fleeing or evading police, wanton endangerment, DUI, reckless driving, resisting arrest, menacing and failure to maintain insurance.
