Another hearing scheduled for Oak Grove woman charged with manslaughter

The attorney representing an Oak Grove woman charged with manslaughter in connection with the June, 2020 death of her teen daughter is getting additional time to look over the evidence in the case.

Jason Holland was appointed last month to represent 49-year old Patricia Conyers of Oak Grove and Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Stephanie Bolen told him Wednesday morning that she will be sure he has all of the discovery in the case by the end of the week.

Judge Atkins set the next pre-trial conference for May 18.

An indictment for second-degree manslaughter was returned December 17 against Conyers, alleging she caused the death of her daughter by failing to provide her with appropriate medical care and by “failing to do what a reasonable person would do, knowing the child would not get better without a doctor’s care.”
