Man arrested after Saturday night stabbing

A Mississippi man was arrested by Hopkinsville police Saturday night after he allegedly assaulted and stabbed his girlfriend at the Travel Inn on East Ninth Street.

An arrest citation for 41-year old Andrew Bradley of Charleston, Mississippi says he and his girlfriend—a 37-year old Cadiz woman—became involved in an argument and the woman attempted to gather her belongings and leave.

That’s when Bradley allegedly punched the victim in the face and swung her around the room with her hooded sweatshirt.

The woman eventually made it outside to her vehicle, but police say Bradley stabbed her in the upper left thigh with a knife before she could close the door. The victim went to Jennie Stuart Medical Center by private vehicle to seek treatment for her injuries.

Bradley was arrested just after 11 p.m. and charged with second-degree assault (domestic violence).
