Kentucky State Police have identified the man killed in a fatal vehicle versus pedestrian collision in Todd County near Guthrie Wednesday.
According to a news release, troopers were able to identify the victim as 31-year-old Venancio Jimenez-Alvarez. The search for information on the driver of the vehicle, which remains unknown, continues and the public is asked that if anyone has information on the incident to call KSP Post 2 at 270-676-3313.
As previously reported, the collision happened sometime around 1 a.m. Wednesday morning on US 79 near Guthrie and the driver who struck the victim did not stop. State police say the collision may have been fog-related and it’s possible the driver of the automobile thought they had struck a deer.
